WCC requires the ALEKS PPL (Assessment and Learning in Knowledge Spaces Placement, Preparation and Learning) mathematics assessment which is designed to determine which math course a student is ready to take. The material covered in the assessment ranges from Arithmetic to Pre-calculus. Individuals taking the exam have approximately 90 minutes to answer 30 questions.
Once you complete the ALEKS PPL for the first time, you will gain access to a customized Prep and Learning Modules that you may use to prepare to take the exam again. The Learning Commons has also produced some presentations that can help you prepare for foundational math concepts that may appear on the ALEKS PPL. You can find these resources located in the ALEKS PPL Resources section under Math Placement.
