Use this guide to explore children's books in the Bailey Library.

Use the left-side menu to browse books for children by ages 0-3 or ages 3-5.

Browsing Youth Fiction

Browse the youth collection by level to find books written for specific age groups: 

  • BBK = Board Books
  • CHL = Picture Books
  • MG = Middle Grade Books
  • YA = Young Adult Books

Youth Nonfiction can also be found in the Youth Collection, arranged by subject.  

Children's Literature Search

Find books in the Youth Collection by author, title, or subject by using the search box below (or on the library's homepage) and limiting your results under location to Youth Literature.

Find Books

Find Children's Books in the Library Catalog

On the results page, select location in the filter menu and select Youth Literature. Click the Apply Filters Button.

Click on the title of the book you would like to find in the results list.

Write down the call number to locate the book on the library's shelf.

Find More Books by Author or Subject

If you find a book you really like, use these tips to see if we have more books by the author or additional books on the same subject.

Click on the author, illustrator, or subject heading to find more books by the author, illustrator, or books on that topic
