Welcome to the Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) learning guide. Use this guide to help you locate quality information at the Library. There is also a tab with website links to organizations and quality information.

Locating books in the Library

Search the WCC Bailey Library online catalog to find books about physical therapy assistant.  You can search by keyword or use the assigned Library of Congress Subject headings such as:

Electronic Books

If you need a book when the library is closed, the Bailey Library owns thousands of eBooks that you can use online at any time of the day or night. Try one of the databases listed below: 

  • ebrary - Find 70,000 electronic books in all subject areas for college-level reading and research. Please enable JavaScript, cookies, and pop-ups on your computer.
  • Gale Virtual Reference Library - Find full-text encyclopedias and other specialized reference books.
  • NetLibrary - Search and read the full-text of thousands of electonic books on many subjects.

Michigan eLibrary   

If you can't find the book you need at WCC's library, you can borrow books from other Michigan libraries through MelCat.  The books will be delivered to WCC for pick-up at the User Service Desk. Most books arrive within 5-7 days.  You will be notified by your WCC e-mail when your books have arrived.
