Introduction to Creative Commons and applying, using, and sharing Creative Commons-licensed work.

Share OER at WCC

Share your adopted, adapted, or created OER materials with WCC!

The Bailey Library maintains a digital collection of OER in use at WCC because:

  • OER are licensed to be accessed anytime, anywhere.
  • Students can access course materials before the course opens and after it ends.
  • WCC faculty can explore OER and consider using OER in their own course.
  • It promotes the hard work WCC faculty have put towards lowering the cost of higher education for their students.
  • It showcases OER being used at WCC, from links to out-of-the-box adopted OER to OER mash-ups and original content by WCC faculty.

Sharing your OER with WCC is easy!

  • Digital: Send a PDF file or URL link along with the course name and number to WCC Librarian Molly Ledermann.
  • Print: Donate an optional print copy or request that a print copy of an OER textbook be placed in the Course Reserves collection. The library will cover the printing cost of one copy of an OER textbook for Course Reserves.

Share OER Beyond WCC

Share adapted or created OER materials with educators beyond WCC.

Adding your OER to a repository enables other educators to discover, use, and adapt your content for their own students. Reuse of your content includes attribution to you as the author or editor and promotes the OER work being done at WCC!
