Canvas and Library Integration

A guide designed for instructors to add direct links to WCC Library electronic resources and services into the Canvas course site.

How to add a Gale E-book title or E-Book chapter to your Canvas course

An alternative is to search E-Book databases directly. You can link to the E-Book full-text or use permalinks to add a chapter of a Gale E-Book to your Canvas course. Note that the number of pages you can download might be limited.

  1. Go to the Library home page and click on Databases
  2. Click on Databases by Subject
  3. Scroll down to E-Books
  4. Select the E-Book database you want to search
  5. Type in the book you are searching for or the subject of a book you are searching for
  6. Click Search
  7. Click on the book title
  8. You will find the 'Get Link' icon on the right side "Tools" bar
  9. Click on the 'Get Link', then click 'Copy'
  10. Paste this URL into a syllabus, reading list, email, Canvas, or document of your choice!
